So today is the non-wedding reception. This seems to be a trend with Nick and I. We had a non-engagement (strange situation), with a non-engagement ring (my pretty star ring, i love it), we were getting married on a non-day(February 29th), then we had a non-wedding (on January 10th in LaDonna's living room), and a non-honeymoon (in North Myrtle Beach for one night and then we worked the next day)..non we are having a non-reception at church with all Nicks family and our church family. Hehe, we are the most non-traditional couple ever!
Anyways, I am running around like a crazy person trying to get everything ready, pick Lani up from school, burn 100 DVDs, lable them and package them, pick Nick up from work, pick Mason up from daycare and still find time to get myself ready. Ugh! I'm excited though, I love my new family.
On that point, I was sitting on the couch in my in-laws' condo watching everyone interact and I got the best feeling. This is what a family is like. Sure, they're just as crazy as everyone else, but they are my family...and more importantly, my son's family. I never thought I'd be able to provide Mason with a real family...and I was right. But through God's grace, we got our family. First with the church and now with Nick and his family. I don't want them to go back to Jersey. Most are leaving tomorrow, the rest (his parents and brother and sister) are leaving on Sunday after church. Not looking forward to that. Well, time to get Lani and head to the chuch. God Bless.
