Paul in revelations sees the throne room of god.
Revelation 4:7-8 In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come."
4 creatures combined represents the fullness of God.
THE OX
represents the strong servant.
To be this strong servant "the ox" we need to
1. realize god sees our face and he serves us.
Hebrews 7:25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
- the god of the universe is serving us so we can serve others.
- he takes care of us so we can focus on other people and not ourselves.
Psalm 139 = encouragement when we are weary
- where ever you are in your life, God sees you.
- You won't be able to finish the race if you lose focus of the fact that God sees you and serves you.
2. look at one another's face and serve each other
Acts 2:47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
if we served in the way that the bible says it would change everything.
people would flock to the church.
Acts 2:42 - 46 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
The early church served, worked and had fellowship together....
if we really want to "be the ox" we need to encourage each other and do life together.
The enemy wants to discourage us from growing the kingdom of God.
- God will use those that reflect his face and his glory in the world.
- The church should reflect the glory of God -- the servant -- the Ox
