Yummy Healthy Treats :)

So, my husband has started Adventure Boot Camp to get healthy and shed some extra weight. So far he is about 4 days in and feeling it. Well, since exercise is only part of the equation, we have been working together to come up with healthy meals and snacks that the whole family can eat.
Lately he has been having a smoothie at least once a day and all we have around the house is peanut butter. Needless to say, he is getting tired of peanut butter smoothies. So last night I decided to run to the store and get some new ingredients, which is difficult since Nick HATES most kinds of fruit (strawberries, pineapple and grapes to name a few). Well, I came up with an Orange Cremesicle Smoothie and it was DELICIOUS!
3/4 Cup frozen orange juice concentrate
1/4 Cup fat free half and half (land o lakes)
1/2 cup 1% milk
3 or 4 ice cubes
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp orange flavored fish oil
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
Put ice and milk in blender and crush ice (doing this first keeps the texture smooth).
Add remainder of ingredients, one at a time.
Blend until smooth.
Serve immediately.
This was enough to serve as a meal replacment or after work out shake, but it tasted good enough that both of the kids loved it and my picky husband said "Wow".
